Infant Massage USA

Suzanne Reese

Infant massage is a series of classes where the infant massage instructor teaches the parent to massage their baby. This promotes bonding between the parent and child and increases the confidence of the new parent in reading the baby’s cues. It also promotes sleep and can help with colic.

Studies have shown that children who were massaged as infants often grow up to be less violent, more communicative adults.

Lavender & Burns

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender Essential Oil

If you don’t know me, you should know at least this, my skin is so pale white that I set off the light meter when I’m in a group picture.  Consequently, I burn very, very easily.  I live in California, Los Angeles to be exact and summer lasts about 7-8 months of the year there.  This means that if I’m not careful with regular application of sunblock I will have a sunburn just because I walked outside (no joke).  I used to raise huge aloe plants to slather on my sunburn, now I just cover myself in Lavender oil.  It cuts the burn and helps the tissue heal twice as fast.  Never mind the bonus of being more relaxed.  This summer be sure to pack the Young Living Lavender oil in your beach bag.

***A note about this oil: it is very important to only use therapeutic, food grade essential oils if you are either applying to the skin or consuming the oil.  Oils that are not low pressure, steam distilled contain chemicals that are used to strip the oils from the plants, these adulterated oils can burn you.  This is the difference between a perfume oil and an essential oil.  I use Young Living oils because I know I can count on the purity and have never had a negative reaction to.***

Thieves & Sore Throats

Thieves Essential Oil Blend

Thieves Essential Oil Blend

Up until recently, I could count on a fairly severe cold at least once a year.  I live in Los Angeles and the combination of pollution, population, long hours, and dry air can be a perfect incubator for colds.  They always start with a sore, “tickly” throat and then either move down into my chest or up into my head.  This year, I’ve started taking 1 drop of Thieves Oil on my tongue and applying 1 drop on the bottoms of my feet at the first sign of a sore throat.  Initially, it gives me relief from the sore throat, the clove numbs it out so it isn’t sore.  But long term, the anti-viral/bacterial/fungal properties of the oil have kept me from getting sick by keeping any infections from progressing.

I carry this oil with me whenever I travel.  What could be worse than getting stuck in a small area with a whole bunch of people and their colds?  This oil is a lifesaver.

Peppermint & Food Poisoning

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint Essential Oil

My partner and I were traveling in Canada a few years back.  We stopped for some dinner at the only restaurant in the area, a divey little Indian food place.  The food was less than fresh.  Later that night and all the next day we were racing to the bathroom with food poisoning.  We were miserable and since this was the very beginning of our vacation we were a little depressed.

After laying in bed for hours, miserably, I remembered that I had packed some Peppermint oil.  We figured at that point we had nothing to lose, so we broke it out.  We were having a hard time keeping anything down so we applied it first to our stomachs.  After about a 1/2 an hours, our stomachs had settled enough to drink some water and rest.  We put 2 drops in a glass of water and drank it.  After an hour we were done running to the bathroom.  We kept sipping at another glass of peppermint water (2 drops to a glass) and were soon up to leaving the hotel room.  Our vacation was saved!  All thanks to Peppermint oil.
